South African born artist - Jennifer Maestre creates wonderful sea urchin-like sculptures using simple pencils. Each composition uses literally hundreds of pencils that she cuts into small 1-inch sections. A hole is drilled in each section, the pencils are sharpened and then all sewn together. She also has developed a stunning collection of sculptures using nails.
